Javier Tebas spoke about it at a recent conference in which he participated at Cardenal Herrera CEU University. According to him, the impact will be 90 million euros with this decree that limits the advertising of bookmakers.
"If those who are still ruling, and it seems that they do, a Royal Decree is planned and the impact will be 90 million euros," - he said, and added: "it is a wild issue that had to be regulated, not forbid."
The president of La Liga also reiterated that “there is already enough demagoguery” and that in relation to the total ban, there will be several “inconsistencies” as the advertisements will be seen at international events, such as the Tour de France and the Formula 1 Grand Prix , both outside Spain.
According to Tebas, there is a “transition period” to be sought, of two years for the new regulation. However, for him, the contracts that the clubs are closing already have termination clauses aimed at this possible regulation.
In addition, there is a concern about the “tax increase” said the president, and that Spain is “the country that treats athletes the worst” and this ends up making the country's main football competition less competitive.
